As a long time user, I am so disappointed that they have neglected us Mac users. When I first started using it well over a decade ago, I was using PC (WIN), but switched to Mac about 7 years ago. I still get emails with all the incredible WIN updates - YEAR AFTER YEAR - but nothing for us Mac users. How can a company have such tunnel vision? I am currently testing out 2 new solutions.

I hate to have to learn new software and shortcuts, but I now feel like an idiot for supporting a company that doesn't support my needs or seem to care. We understand the frustration of Mac users. Many of us are Mac users at Mindjet. As longtime MindManager users know, Mindjet the company has been reorganized to provide clear focus on improving MindManager.
The first step was to provide a significantly improved Windows release, MindManager 2016, since our global base skews heavily toward Windows. The next step is to dramatically improve the Mac. You will see some announcements in the next quarter and more significant announcements later this year. Tim makes a great point that the smaller mac user base may be because of the lack of mac support rather than the other way around. I suspect on paper I'd be classed as a 'Windows user' by Mindjet yet I'm put off using Mindmanager any more just because I don't have the option of easily using my macbook too. It's not just 'Mac users' but also 'multi platform users' that are being deterred. Almost every mindmap app I've used is available on mac and pc and they are on feature parity. Also as Tim points out it seems we've heard the promises before, look in the earlier comments.
I started this thread and even at the start I was told by Mindjet we'd see an update in Q1! Now it is going to be Q2/3, 'later this year' and it's been reduced from 'update' to just 'announcements'.
So just in the lifetime of this thread alone the promises are heavily diluted and delayed, so is it any wonder there's such scepticism and still very much a feeling of too little, too late. Really at this point for me it would have to be made up by having amazing upgrade of Mindmanager as a platform (still leaves a lot to be desired even in Windows for features and exporting)/huge reduction in price and definitive feature parity across platforms. Anything less than that seems pointless to me.
From my comment: 'Also as Tim points out it seems we've heard the promises before, look in the earlier comments. I started this thread and even at the start I was told by Mindjet we'd see an update in Q1! Now it is going to be Q2/3, 'and response 'We're on a path towards it but it'll take some time to get there. Action will speak louder than words.' Looks like I was right about hearing these promises before.
Where's the 'action' on this, we're already well into Q3.I'm not actually expecting anything, I've already resigned myself to just simply assuming mac is now dead for mindmanager development. Even the 'good intentions' are for minor updates and not proper upgrades equivalent to windows version so that might as well be not updating it at all for what I wanted. I've been using Mindmanager on Windows for many years at home, and for some years on MAC at work, and have stuck with the MAC version as fortunately the current v10 does still work with El Capitan OSX 10.11, but please bring some of the extra Windows features as this will make a huge improvement in the usability.I need the ability to take notes and do a first level info sort as I'm doing this as I can't handle simple lists, but splitting topics and separating a selected set or branch out to another file would be so useful. I don't want to become another leaver, but it's still a risk.I have to fund this on my own, and won't willingly purchase another version until there is a real upgrade, but I'm likely to buy if you bring some useful upgrades to the MAC version. Hmmm interestng if you don't have 10 and update to new mac OS you are now out of luck. It is not supported and after a very frustrating teck chat there is not support other than spending the money to upgrade.
Seems beet steep to make us upgrade given lack of support for last number of years. This is on one version back that now is not supported.
I know version 9 has not been not touched for years but I think this does not look good for a group that for years was very loyal to the product. The product should have been supported one OS back or given the new upgrade for a very small fee.
$89us is the cost of some new complete products. Sorry this is a bit of a rant I am extremely frustrated. Thanks for the extra info, Andrew. Sorry I thought Mindjet were trying to right the situation with the discount offer to existing Mindjet customers. My personal view is they should have a USD $20 upgrade for 'personal use' and the paid USD $89 upgrade for 'enterprise use'.I am not a soft touch just English polite diplomatic:-) After many years away I have come back to Mindjet a few months ago because they seem to be now doing the minimum to support MAC users, which is better than doing nothing for us.I have already raised with the Mindjet CEO. I would encourage you to do the same but please do not share his email address in the forum if you obtain it, and be polite, I have the feeling he will want to help as it is so expensive to get customers.Mindjet CEO Patrick NicholsOn his LinkedIn profile click CONNECT then ADD NOTEIf you are on Mojave you need to upgrade to v11. I only upgraded because I had purchased a roadmap subscription to v11 which had not been fulfilled by Mindjet because of some error so then I migrated to Mojave at the same time.I exited mindmanager completely for a few years and purchased the expensive iMindMap I have issues with the iMindMap UI yet there are some clever things in the UI as well. These products are mentioned by other forum members in but I have not tried them:.Sorry it's not better news for you.Cheers, John. Dear @MindmapFan - thank you for your thoughtful response.
I have been mindmapping since I read Tony Buzzan's brilliant book way back when, well before Mindjet even existed. I have also used Mindmap for many years, predominantly on a PC and have had no problems and of course always had the latest and greatest features. Since I moved to a Mac environment, I have had to endure second-class citizenship, and this is just the latest of many insults to Mac users. I'm going back to a back-of-the-napkin approach, albeit with a new iPad and electronic pencil - much more satisfying anyway. Thanks again @Mindmapfan. Let me know if any progress is made.
